Posted on June 11th 2010: Got my first Barber Babe cut from Trish, and loved it.
I was really coming here to tell everybody about getting a great hair experience I just had from Mindy herself. First time having owner lady do my do, and she did a fine job with it. But heck, I've been there 9 or 10 times and have never really had a bad cut.
No, what I really wanted to say (and didn't at the time I was there) was that I hadn't seen Mindy in person for a couple of years -- she happened to be out every time I went in there for a cut. So, when I did see her there again, WOW! I had read here that this lady had been working out, but the difference was incredible. Mindy is one buff and HOT barber babe now. Really nice looking.
Guys, even if you really don't need the haircut, it's worth the price of admission just to watch the "eye candy" for a while. No, get the haircut. Go out of your way to get the haircut. But, Dude, even if you're bald, you can come in and get the nice scalp massage from a totally hot babe. Just go for it!
I was glad I did.

Posted on Oct 23rd 2009: Hello Barber Babes. I came in today not knowing what to expect. Since I moved from LA no Barber/Hair shop has made me leave with a smile on my face. Today I go to your shop and Noelle was fabulous. Really pleasant and outgoing. Love the attitude.. I'll be back.
Posted on Sept 25th 2009: I recently moved to the Portland area and just stumbled across this place. Came in on a Tuesday and got a cut from Noelle. Very easy on the eyes, very friendly, very intelligent conversation (even though I'm sure I stuck both feet in my mouth) and an even better haircut. I can definitely say I am looking forward to my next visit! Thanks Babes!
Posted on June 10th 2009: Just saw Kyla she is a very nice lady and quite a artist with the scissors!. And her scalp massage will challenge the the best of our massage ladies. A very nice experience!
Posted on Dec 30th 2008: I was able to find the shop after emailing Mindy for directions. It was my first visit and Amber was working. The haircut has to be the best I've ever had. Perfect length. I had the Supreme, which includes a drink, scalp massage and back and neck massage. Amber was nice to to converse with and had some interesting stories and she may have talked me into keeping some of my Grey hairs!
Posted on Aug 4th 2008: After a long round of golf in Hillsboro with my son, we decided to venture in to town to get our haircuts and do some birthday shopping. My son, being 17 and a bit of a twit, only went with the Basic cut and shampoo. I went with the Supreme. Both of us requested the #1 shears, for summer short "buzz" cuts. While I was getting my head massage, Maria was talking, making jokes, and just being perky. It was a lot more fun than my regular barber (70+ year old semi-retired codger). She would make playful jabs at me, I would jab right back. It was great. She has a great sense of humor. I didn't take a beer (it was offered, but I was driving on an empty stomach). This is one resource I don't want to see go away.
Posted on Jul 26 2008: Second time visiting Maria, third time to The Barber Babes. Great haircut, witty girl. It beats feeling weird amongst the Bishops kids, and I can watch all the Lifetime I wanted. Congrats to the owner Mindy with her recent success in the media, and continued success. Maria was great, and I looked so good afterword.
Posted on July 2nd 2008: I arrived here in Portland and checked into my room and then proceeded down to The Barber Babes. When I walked in there sat Brittan. Very pretty! Looked very hot in her school girl outfit and white hosiery. I gestured I wanted a haircut. (gestured because I am deaf) I jotted down what I wanted my hair to look like. She showed me the seat and offered me a drink (soda or beer, I took water it was hot outside) and proceeded to cut my hair. She did an awesome job and a hell of a lot better than I have had before with one of those chain hair cutting places. When she finished she showed me the back with a mirror, and I jokingly wrote down "I don't remember having a bald spot." She smiled and pretended to pick up the hair and place it on the balding spot.
So I got just what was advertised, and I was impressed with Brittan's skills and sense of humor. Little disappointed I did not get to see the lovely Mindy, but was well cared for by Brittan. I was too shy to ask for my hand job.....I mean hand massage, but left happy. If you get a chance to get a haircut this is the place to go hands down!
Posted on June 15th 2008: I stored up almost 3/8 of an inch of hair so Brit would have something to do. This amounted to about 5 weeks of growth. I called mid day and told Brit that I would be there between 3 and 3:30. When I arrived she was busily finishing up another client, so Brit offered me a wide selection of sudsy beverages. Psssst! I popped it's top and picked up the latest copy of MAXIM. Brit was done within 5 minutes, so I took my place in her stylin chair. I've never had the opportunity to sip a beer while I was having my hair cut. IT SO ROCKS! I requested the difficult #1AO. For you newbies, that stands for #1 clip, ALL OVER. We talked about a lot of things while she worked on my do, and I admired her various curves. Her tattoos tell a story, so it's cool to hear the background. You see, normally I'm cheap and go to SuperSlash or CUTsR-US.....you know...the Walmarts of styling salons. I felt like supporting Mindy and seeing what all the talk is about. I was VERY pleased. Brit took great care of me and somehow, she found enough to do! She snipped stray hairs that have been so neglected by other shops. She gave a great cut. It's a bit out of the way for me, but I'd like to treat myself to that kinda treatment more often. Thanks Brit, and to Mindy....best of luck to you in your biz. It's a great idea.
Posted on May 25th 2008: Well, it was that time again so I made a random trip into The Barber Babes on Thursday morning to get pampered, and to get a little bit trimmed off the top too.
I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Michelle on this visit. The first thing I have to say is that I was totally pleased with the haircut I got from her. I have been getting it done the same way for years. She made a suggestion on how it could be better, and I left there lookin' fine! A bit longer in the back made all the difference. Like I've said before, all the looks in the world doesn't count if the cut doesn't rock. Michelle rocks!
Michelle is great to converse with while getting your head pampered. Good looks and intelligence, and a great haircut. What more could a guy ask for! I'm glad I dropped in while she was there. You might give her a try. You will be as impressed by her as I was.
Posted on Feb 26th 2008: I went in to The Barber Babes the other day and I was treated like a queen! Mindy gave me a hand massage and Maria gave me a nice scalp massage. I have to say, I wish I could have taken a bite out of Mindy's cleavage and Maria had me thinking, 'Hmmmm....I bet she tastes GOOD!' lol
Anyhoo, I told Maria I was growing out my hair and I didn't want anything extreme. She did a GREAT job thinning out my thick hair and she didn't take too much off. I even took a few photos for them to post on their site!
Posted on Feb 20th 2008: I would like to help spread the word about The Barber Babes. I made an appointment Sunday and got the Supreme haircut. Scalp massage by Maria and the hand massage by Mindy was totally relaxing. My hair tends to go Alfalfa but Maria did a great job with no cowlicks. Being a Redwings fan it was also a bonus to have the game on the flat screen. Maria is funny with a sarcastic wit and great features. Mindy is great and is pulling together a fun and relaxing environment. Check them out and I bet you will go back.

Where: The Barber Babes (www.TheBarberBabes.com)
What: Great haircut, scalp and hand massage
When: School Girl Wednesday
I went in this Wednesday and had my hair cut by Trisha. As cute as the pictures on the website, she's even cuter in person. Gives a great haircut. Mindy said that this was the first day that all three (Mindy, Trisha, and Maria) were in the shop.
My cut started with a scalp massage (Trisha) and a hand massage (Mindy). What a wonderful thing, Mindy standing in front of me in a tight white shirt........Wowser.
My only thoughts would be to suggest that maybe the shop starts a Toga Tuesday, and when available, while the scalp and hand massage are happening, the 3rd girl could be feeding the customer grapes.... *big grin*
I expect I'll be back in 6 weeks or so.
Posted on Jan 13th 2008: I have not received that many wonderfully complimentary comments about haircuts in my lifetime, but I swear I have received more from my Barber Babes cut than any other.
Posted on Jan 5th 2008: Mindy, I was so glad to meet you today for what I must say was the most wonderful experience I've ever had getting a haircut! I think I was the last client for the day. Trisha was a little quiet but she did a great job and is a beautiful Barber Babe! She may have been quiet because I was busy talking to Mindy as she gave me a wonderful hand massage (my first). Ladies and Gentlemen do yourselves a favor and get in there even if you just need a trim! I've always dreaded going for a cut but from now on I'll be looking forward to it! I do suggest making an appointment, as a walk-in they were booked for the next hour and I had to come back, but as you can tell I'm glad I did! Mindy may all your dreams come true and you open several more shops soon!
Posted on Jan 5th 2008: I have been growing my hair for about 6 years without a trim, and wanted to put it to a good cause, but I wanted to give myself a very special treat too. So, when I heard of Mindy's idea of her barber shop I knew it was for me. I went in today and was very happy with the atmosphere that I found. I was still very nervous and Mindy offered me a cold beer to relax my nerves, and gave me a huge hug that was truly HUGE *big smile*
When my turn came up I was offered a seat. She told me that I was her first client to get this service. I then promised that I wouldn't cry and very soon it all came off. The whole time my eye's were fixed on the mirrors and the view. After about 1/2 an hour she said I was done. I must say I wanted to hang out and enjoy the view a little more, but I knew it was time for me to go. I had a great time and will return for more trims. Thanks for the very awesome hair cut.
P.S. My hair was cut and is being donated to locks of love, and I hope anyone else out there that can will help this good cause.
