* NEW: Spring 2010... your haircut's save lives!

Starting in Spring 2010 every time you get your hair cut at The Barber Babes you will be saving lives and cleaning up oil spills in our oceans.  We will be donating all of our hair clippings to Matter of Trust.  They make hair mats that soak up the oil and each mat can be re used 100 times.  Imagine all the oil they can clean up and all the animals and wild life you will be saving.  All you have to do is get a haircut... and we do the rest!
UPDATE:  We are helping in the efforts to clean up the recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  HOW YOU CAN HELP .... PLEASE bring in your nylons (ladies pantyhose) to our shop at 914 NE 28th Ave Portland Oregon.  They use the pantyhose to make hair booms to soak up the oil.  Please bring in your pantyhose (they can have runs in them... doesn't matter) to us by May 10th.  We will be shipping them out on the 11th so please bring them to us by the 10th.  More info on what we are doing on the Matter of Trust website:  www.matteroftrust.org

Sure, there are plenty of places in Portland where a man can get his head trimmed by a pretty girl (and Hair M adds that touch of class that only a polygamy pun can bring), but Mindy Sue Joe’s Kerns neighborhood salon, The Barber Babes (914 NE 28th Ave., 235-8199), offers soft-core mags in the waiting area, butt rock on a boombox and stylists who break out the schoolgirl uniforms. “We were going to call it the Busty Barbers, but then I would’ve had to get a boob job,” explains stylist Brittan as she shears a long-haul trucker. Ah, Sandy Boulevard.
